Images on this page are from various performances of the Sovanna Phum Theatre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Practicing the tradition of Khmer shadow theater in the Sbek Thom style, performers employ large, hand-punched leather puppets. Each puppet is made from a single piece of leather in a special ceremony for each character representing gods and deities.
