Tess Matukonis
Could i jump a train
earn five grand canning
three months straight
spend all of it
not care
pass out wake up
in any state
stare at flames and rivers to recharge
accept indeterminate glances
allow curiosity
set new patterns among my old habits
i see planets
clearly for the first time
where no one
leaves the porch light on
Could i relive
a perfect place
in a memory
reduced to its
juniper aftertaste
tied to a pole
flapping in the
freedom wind
